Watch for their body language as well. Do they stand tall with good posture? When they speak is their body relaxed or do they appear nervous or overly shy? A confident speaker will not shrug or shrink into their seat, they will instead sit or stand tall and square to you. They will look you right in the eyes and speak with conviction and ease.
